Katie has a long and distinguished career in the staffing industry including over ten years as an area manager for a national staffing firm. Prior to opening PorticoHR, Katie was Vice President and a Partner of Merit Resources, Inc., a Professional Employer Organization located in Urbandale. She was a finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2001. Katie is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society of Human Resource Management. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa. She is active in the community serving on the Board of Homesteaders Life Co., a volunteer for the Greater Des Moines Partnership; and serves on the Program Committee for the Central Iowa Society for Human Resource Management. She serves on the State SHRM Council as Director of Professional Development. Katie is past President of the Rotary Club of West Des Moines, past Board member of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, and has served on various non-profit boards.
Renee comes to PorticoHR with a wide variety of experience in the Iowa and national arena. Renee has over 10 years of experience in Management, Human Resources, and Financial Services. She has served in major insurance and entertainment companies as well as a nationally known small business consulting firm. Her educational background includes degrees and accreditation in Social Science (emphasis in Business and Psychology) and Human Resources Management. She brings a dedication, commitment and drive to help her clients reach their ultimate potential. As an account executive for PorticoHR, Renee’s love for serving others is fulfilled by finding the right job for the right candidate, as well as the right candidate for the right job. By learning about the goal of the partner company and their culture, Renee has the honor of blending her business knowledge and Human Resources skill set to seek out, meet, and connect with the possible candidates for partner companies. She considers herself the first stop to a long term employment fit for all parties that she serves. Along with her career, Renee is married and is a dedicated mother. She is actively involved with the community, Tae Kwon Do and her church.
Tami Cornell attended college in Des Moines, IA, and has years of experience within Management (Supervision), Training, Recruiting/Staffing and Customer Service. Tami finds Recruiting/Staffing to be rewarding because .. “It allows you to enrich the lives of others” ... Aside from her career, Tami’s greatest source of pride is her children and two grandchildren.
Katherine is a graduate of Central College in Pella. She has A BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. Katherine has eight years of customer service and relationship building experience. She is active in the The Greater Des Moines Partnership's
Amanda Dorff works part-time as our technical support assistant. Amanda received her Associate of Arts degree at Des Moines Area Community College, and she is currently a junior at Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa. She is pursuing a major in Health Promotion and Wellness Management with a minor in Business Management. In her free-time, Amanda enjoys the arts, running, and playing with her dog, Sprout.
